Short Biography
Dr. Ioannis Papadopoulos is a 1st-level Professor at the University of Thessaly in the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design with the subject of “Economics of Wood Businesses & Marketing of Wood Products”. He is the Director for seven (7) consecutive years (2015-2022) of the Postgraduate Program “Advanced Methods of Wood Product Manufacturing” with 3 specializations: a) Product Design, b) Wood Technology, c) Management & Marketing). He is the President of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design of the School of Technology of the University of Thessaly and Director of the institutionalized Laboratory “Forest Economics, Marketing, Innovation & Entrepreneurship” of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design of the University of Thessaly.
He is a regular member of the MODIP of the University of Thessaly, as well as of the Strategic Planning Unit of the University of Thessaly. He has participated in many international and national scientific committees, and European & national research programs (over 60), of which 25 as a scientific manager and 35 as a member of a research team. He has been a trainer in several national and international seminars for entrepreneurs from various sectors on topics such as: Production, Marketing, Costing, Business Administration & Finance, Ecological Innovation, Circular Economy, New Product Development, Productivity Improvement, etc., while he is a consultant to several companies.
His current research interests are: business marketing, market research, economic analysis, costing, business networking (clusters), innovation, circular economy, bioeconomy, reconstruction of areas after forest fires. He teaches the following courses: Marketing of Wood Products, Costing of Production of Wood Products and Services, Management of Forest Organizations & Businesses, Forest Economics (at undergraduate level) and Marketing of New Products, Marketing of Bioproducts, Modern Methods of Production Costing, Research Methodology (at postgraduate level).
He has published over 240 total papers and articles in various international and national conferences, scientific & industry journals, articles, books, collective volumes, etc. He has presented scientific papers at international conferences in the following countries: Greece, America (N.Y. Los Angeles), Japan, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Cyprus, etc. He has participated in several international and national scientific committees, while he is a reviewer of several scientific papers at international conferences and journals, as well as a member of academic and scientific journal committees.
According to Google Scholar, there have been more than 455 bibliographic references to the published work of I. Papadopoulos (h-index 10). He has organized scientific workshops and conferences, participating with many speeches and presentations. He is a member of many scientific organizations and associations, and has served as a member of evaluation committees for educational, research and administrative work at the Department and Institutional levels.
