Short Biography

Dr. Nikolaos Papandrianos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Energy Systems of the University of Thessaly, after moving from the former Department of Nursing of the General Department of Lamia of the same University. He was appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor at the Department of Nursing of the former TEI of Central Greece in Lamia (10.1.2018).

He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras in 2000 and completed his PhD in Nuclear Medicine at the same University in 2011. He completed his medical specialization in Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital of Patras, (2005-2009). He then worked as an Assistant Physician at the Department of Nuclear Medicine of the University Hospital of Larissa, (2010-2011) and from 3/2011 to 9/2020, he was Scientific Director of the Nuclear Medicine Laboratory, “Diagnostic Medicine S.A.”, Larissa.

He has 65 publications in peer-reviewed journals, prestigious conferences and collective volumes in the areas of nuclear medicine, ionizing radiation, diagnostic models in nuclear medicine through machine learning applications and medical decision support systems.

Over the last five years, his research work has received significant recognition from the scientific community and the total number of citations is 573 with h-index=14 on googlescholar.

His research interests include nuclear medicine, imaging techniques using ionizing radiation in SPECT, SPECT/CT, diagnostic models in nuclear medicine and cardiology using machine and deep learning techniques, nuclear oncology, imaging systems in medicine and applications in decision making with an emphasis on image diagnosis in Nuclear Medicine.
